Terms of Use
Effective: September 30, 2026
These terms apply to SSEM Markdown Editor (the “extension”), a browser extension provided free of charge by SSEM DEV, an independent developer (the “developer”). The extension is a free personal project distributed through the Chrome Web Store; Google’s terms also apply to your use of the Chrome Web Store.
1. Use
- You may use the extension free of charge for personal and business purposes.
- Please install the extension through the Chrome Web Store. You may not redistribute modified copies under the name “SSEM Markdown Editor”. The bundled open-source components may be used freely under their own licenses listed below.
2. Your responsibilities
- The extension doesn’t save edits to the original file; it creates a new file through a browser download. Downloading your edits, keeping them and replacing the original are up to you. Edits may be lost if you close the tab without downloading.
- Keep separate backups of important documents.
- The content and safety of external images and links in a document are the responsibility of the sites that host them.
3. Disclaimer of warranties
The extension is provided free of charge and “as is”. The developer does not warrant that it will run without interruption or error, render every Markdown document exactly, or work in every browser or environment, except for warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
4. Limitation of liability
The developer is not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the extension (for example, the loss of unsaved edits). This limitation does not apply to damages caused by the developer’s intent or gross negligence.
5. Open-source notices
SSEM Markdown Editor is based on the open-source project md-reader by Bener (MIT License, Copyright © 2018-present Bener). The extension includes the following open-source components.
