Please don’t send whole documents that contain personal or confidential information.

Frequently asked questions

The preview is blank or shows raw Markdown.

The preview’s rendering libraries (marked, Mermaid, highlight.js, KaTeX) load from the jsDelivr CDN. Check your internet connection and make sure no firewall or content blocker is blocking cdn.jsdelivr.net, then reopen the document.

I see an error instead of my Mermaid diagram.

Check that the code block’s language is exactly mermaid and that the diagram syntax is valid. Diagram Studio’s code mode re-renders as you type, which makes it easy to find where the syntax breaks. Starting from a starter template and editing step by step also helps.

How do I open Diagram Studio?

Double-click a diagram in the preview. For a new diagram, choose Diagram › New Diagram in Diagram Studio… (⇧⌘D); when you apply it, it’s inserted at the cursor.

Visual editing isn’t available for my diagram.

Visual editing (nodes, connections, Connect mode) is available for flowcharts. Other types — sequence, class, state, ER, Gantt, pie, mindmap and more — are edited in code mode, which renders the result as you type.

It says “iCloud is not available”.

Sign in to your Apple Account on the Mac and turn on iCloud Drive in System Settings › Apple Account › iCloud, then relaunch the app if needed. You can always save to any folder with ⌘S.

Diagrams or math are missing from my PDF.

Make sure the preview has finished rendering all diagrams and math before exporting. If the libraries couldn’t load (no internet connection), content may be exported unrendered.

Are my documents sent to your servers?

No. Documents are stored only on your Mac or in your own iCloud Drive, and the app never sends their contents anywhere. There are no accounts, ads or analytics. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How much does it cost? Is there a subscription?

It’s a one-time purchase of US$0.99 on the Mac App Store (local App Store pricing applies). There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases, and updates come through the App Store.
