Privacy Policy
Effective: September 29, 2026
Levelupsoft Inc. (“we”) operates the macOS app SSEM MarkdownEditor (the “app”) and its information website (https://levelupsoft.com/SSemMarkdownEditor/en/, the “website”). This policy explains what information the app and the website handle and how. We comply with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea and other applicable laws.
Summary: The app does not collect any personal data and sends nothing to us. Your documents stay on your Mac or in your own iCloud Drive. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. The preview does download its rendering libraries from the jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net), so network requests to that server occur — those requests never contain your document content.
1. Personal data we collect
We do not collect any personal data through the app.
- There is no sign-up or login.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting tools.
- The app never communicates with our servers.
- The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location.
2. Documents and app data
- Your documents are saved as files where you choose. We never receive or see them.
- The recent files list and view settings (view mode, preview and editor themes, etc.) are kept only in the app’s own storage on your Mac. You can clear the list with File › Open Recent › Clear Recent Files.
- Diagrams you export from Diagram Studio as PNG or SVG are saved where you choose; “Copy as PNG” puts the image on your Mac’s clipboard.
3. Network requests (jsDelivr CDN)
The preview and editor use the open-source libraries marked, Mermaid, highlight.js, KaTeX and CodeMirror, which the app downloads from the jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net).
- These requests only fetch library files. They never include your document content or personal data. Markdown, diagram and math rendering all happens on your Mac.
- As with any web request, jsDelivr and its CDN providers may receive technical information needed to serve it, such as your IP address, the time, the file requested and the browser engine (User-Agent). We do not receive or store this information; it is handled under jsDelivr’s privacy policy (jsdelivr.com).
- If you put an external image or link address (
https://…) in a document yourself, the preview loads that image from its server. That request goes to the address you entered and has nothing to do with us.
4. iCloud
When you use Save to iCloud, the document is stored in your iCloud Drive (in the app’s folder) and synced by Apple. That data belongs to your Apple Account and is handled under Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot access your iCloud data.
5. Website
- The website uses no cookies, analytics, ads, external fonts or external scripts.
- For security and operations (troubleshooting, blocking abuse), the web server (including the front proxy) automatically keeps access logs: IP address, date and time, requested address, response status and size, and depending on server configuration the referring page (Referer) and browser type (User-Agent).
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in service security and incident response (PIPA Article 15(1)(6)).
6. When you contact us
If you email us, we process your email address, name (if provided) and message (including any document excerpt you attach) to answer you. We use this information only to respond and to keep a record of the inquiry.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request (PIPA Article 15(1)(4)).
7. Sharing, processors and transfers abroad
We do not sell or provide personal data to third parties, except where required by law. Because the app sends nothing to us, there is no sharing or transfer through the app (the CDN requests in section 3 go directly from your device to jsDelivr; we do not pass any data to them).
Support email is received and stored using the following provider (processing and transfer abroad):
| Recipient | Google LLC (Google Workspace email), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA · https://support.google.com/policies/ |
|---|---|
| Data | Email address, name (if provided), message |
| Countries | The U.S. and other countries where Google operates data centers |
| When and how | Transmitted over the network when your email is received |
| Purpose | Receiving and storing support email |
| Retention | Same as inquiry data in section 8 |
| How to refuse | Don’t contact us by email. You won’t get a reply, but it has no effect on using the app. |
The app is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple handles purchase, download and device information under its own privacy policy; we do not receive purchasers’ personal data.
8. Retention and deletion
- App data: we hold none. You delete documents yourself; when you delete the app you can also remove its data on your Mac (recent files list and settings).
- Web server access logs: kept for one year from collection, then deleted.
- Inquiry data: kept for one year after the inquiry is resolved, then deleted.
9. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete or stop processing personal data we hold about you (such as inquiry data). Email the privacy officer below and we will act on your request and reply within 10 days. Information stored in the app is fully under your control on your Mac.
10. Children
The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children. If we learn that a child under 14 contacted us by email without a legal guardian’s consent, we delete that information without delay.
