Privacy Policy

Effective: September 30, 2026

SSEM DEV, an independent developer (“the developer”, “we”), operates the browser extension JSON Editor (distributed on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons; “the extension”) and its information website (https://levelupsoft.com/ext-ssem-json-editor/en/; “the website”), and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and other applicable laws. This policy explains what information the extension and the website handle, and how.

In short: the extension collects no personal information and sends nothing to us. The JSON you edit and your settings are stored only in your browser, and we have no access to them. Your browser contacts another server only when you ask it to load a web address yourself.

1. Information we collect

We collect no personal information through the extension.

2. Information stored only in your browser

To work, the extension keeps the following only in your browser’s storage for the extension. We never receive or see it.

InformationPurpose
The last JSON document you edited, and its namePick up where you left off when you reopen the editor
The JSON Schema addresses you added, and the selected schemaSchema validation

An editor opened in a Chrome Incognito window uses storage separate from normal windows, which is cleared when you close all Incognito windows.

6. When you contact us

If you email us, we process your email address, your name (if given) and your message to reply. We use them for nothing other than answering and keeping a record of the inquiry. Please don’t send JSON that contains personal information or secrets.

Legal basis: Article 15(1)(4) of the Personal Information Protection Act (acting on the data subject’s request). No consent is required.

7. Third parties, processors and transfers abroad

We do not provide or sell personal information to third parties, except where the law requires disclosure. Since the extension sends nothing to us, nothing is provided, outsourced or transferred abroad through it.

Emails you send us are received and stored by the following email service (outsourced processing and transfer abroad):

The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store (Google) and Firefox Add-ons (Mozilla). Information involved in installing and updating is handled by each store under its own policy; we only see the aggregate statistics the stores provide (such as install counts).

8. Retention and deletion

9. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, delete or stop the processing of personal information we hold about you (such as inquiries). Email the privacy officer below and we will act on your request and let you know the result within 10 days. You may also make a request through a legal representative or an authorized agent; in that case, please include a power of attorney. You can view, change and delete the information stored in your browser yourself.

10. Security measures

11. Children

The extension collects no one’s personal information, including children’s. The website and email inquiries are handled as described in sections 5 and 6. If we learn that a child under 14 contacted us without a legal guardian’s consent, we delete that information without delay.
